Another update to my top 10 most viewed creatures.
In the race for number 1 Menura, the bird which specializes in sound mimicry has pulled even further ahead of the zombie fungus Ophiocordiceps much to my disappointment. The top five remain unchanged and are pulling away from the pack.
The zombie maggot fly Apocephalus borealis has made a sudden and dramatic charge into number 6 while my favorite outsider Epomis, the beetle which hunts its predators, has finally breached the top ten. The two creatures which have been displaced are the once mighty, but always lazy charismatic koala and the butterfly who would be Queen of the ants Phengaris arion.
The number of insects in the top ten is now up to 4.
